Due to explosions from fireworks, the "Fort" shopping center in the northeast of Moscow was evacuated. The blast occurred in a multifunctional center for the provision of government services located there. Additionally, the multifunctional centers and a shopping mall in Korolev, as well as a post office in the Moscow region of Khimki, were also evacuated.
Two suspects have been detained: one in Moscow and the other in Korolev. In the first case, a pensioner is alleged to have detonated a firecracker under the instructions of individuals who tricked her into giving them 120,000 rubles. In the second case, the suspect reportedly attempted to detonate fireworks at a police station.
Moreover, an explosion occurred at an ATM inside a Sberbank branch in St. Petersburg: preliminary reports suggest that a homemade explosive device may have detonated there. No injuries have been reported, but one of the ATMs was destroyed. "Mash na Moyke" writes that gas was pumped into the ATM before the explosion, which is a common method used in ATM robberies. It is likely that this explosion is unrelated to the previous incidents.
A similar incident occurred the night before in Krasnoyarsk, reports "Siberia.Realities." There, authorities stated that the suspect in the ATM arson fell victim to phone scammers.
