Astana. December 18. KAZAKHSTAN TODAY - The 7th meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) took place online, during which the Republic of Kazakhstan officially transferred the chairmanship of the organization to the Republic of Azerbaijan. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Murat Nurtleu, summarized the four-year chairmanship in CICA, highlighting the key achievements of the organization during this period.
In particular, special attention was given to the transformation process initiated following the 6th CICA Summit held in October 2022 in Astana. In accordance with the transformation roadmap adopted in September 2023, the Kazakh chairmanship developed and launched the process of harmonizing the draft Charter of the Conference.
During this period, Kazakhstan also initiated the establishment of three new bodies - the Forum of Analytical Centers, the Council of Wise Persons, and the CICA Fund.
