KAZAKHSTAN TODAY - In Astana, a training and methodological gathering was held at the National Defense University of the Republic of Kazakhstan with leaders of the foundational educational and methodological, as well as research organizations of the CSTO, along with the seventh meeting of the working group under the Council of Ministers of Defense of the CSTO on coordinating joint military personnel training and scientific work, reports the press service of the unified staff of the organization.
The event was attended by heads of military education management bodies from the defense ministries of Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, foundational educational and methodological, and research organizations, a group of officers from the CSTO Unified Staff led by Lieutenant General Ruslan Shpekbaev, representatives from the CSTO Secretariat, and invited guests.
The head of the CSTO Unified Staff, Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov, emphasized the critical importance of joint training. According to him, over the years of cooperation, CSTO bodies have adopted more than 25 legal acts, ensuring the effective functioning of the established system.
In the interests of developing the military component of the CSTO, a network of foundational educational and methodological, as well as research organizations has been established. Twelve military educational institutions have been granted the status of foundational educational and methodological organizations. For the scientific-theoretical and scientific-practical development of issues related to the creation, improvement, training, and application of forces and means, eight specialized research organizations and military educational institutions have been granted the status of foundational research organizations. The Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is the leading organization among the foundational educational and methodological and research organizations of the CSTO," - noted the chief of the staff.
He highlighted that the format of the gathering provides a unique opportunity to discuss pressing issues regarding military personnel training and scientific work within the organization and to develop specific proposals through collaborative efforts.
The meeting of the working group was chaired by the head of the military education department - deputy head of the main personnel department of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Major General Igor Muravlennikov.
A thorough exchange of views took place regarding the experience of organizing military personnel training and specialists. Proposals were discussed on enhancing interaction between military educational institutions. Participants of the event prepared a number of suggestions for improving the joint training system for military personnel from CSTO member states," - the message states.
The head of the Department of Military Education and Science of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Colonel Murat Olzhabaev, thanked his colleagues for strengthening cooperation in the field of military education, training, retraining, and professional development of military scientific and pedagogical personnel.
The participants of the event also visited the Sagadat Nurmagambetov Military College, where they were familiarized with the educational and material base.
It is worth noting that earlier, the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Imangali Tasmagambetov, held meetings with the heads of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Internal Affairs of Russia, during which the parties discussed preparations for upcoming CSTO events.
