Baku. November 12. KAZAKHSTAN TODAY - The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, met with the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, as reported by the Akorda press service.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his pleasure at meeting the President of Turkey in Baku. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the friendship and cooperation agreement between the two nations.
Our fraternal relations are developing dynamically, with a constructive dialogue established at the political level, and cooperation between the governments of the two countries is strengthening. Turkey is one of Kazakhstan's top five trading partners. Last year, trade turnover reached 6 billion dollars," he emphasized.
According to the head of state, Turkey is among the leading investors that have made significant contributions to Kazakhstan's economy. He also stated that the investment projects involving Turkish entrepreneurs are under his personal supervision. In turn, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan noted that the relations between Kazakhstan and Turkey have taken on a strategic nature. He pointed out the significant potential for further activation of trade and economic cooperation.
I am confident that during the 5th meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, scheduled for next year in Ankara, we will sign important agreements in agriculture, defense, energy, transportation and logistics, as well as in the cultural and humanitarian sphere. We will continue to work toward increasing bilateral trade turnover to 15 billion dollars," said the President of Turkey.
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emphasized that Turkish companies are successfully operating in various sectors of Kazakhstan's economy. According to him, Turkish businessmen are ready to share their experience in modernizing the agricultural sector, building nuclear power plants, and transporting oil and gas.
Furthermore, the heads of state exchanged views on pressing international and regional issues and agreed to provide mutual support within multilateral frameworks.
Earlier, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, during a meeting with the Crown Prince of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and the leader of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, invited the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and the President of Rwanda to visit Kazakhstan.
