Astana. November 15. KAZAKHSTAN TODAY - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with Nguyen Xuan Thang, a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, as reported by Akorda .
The head of state noted that Kazakh-Vietnamese relations are currently on the rise. The President fondly recalled his official visit to Vietnam last year. The negotiations that took place during this visit provided a significant boost to bilateral cooperation.
The President identified Vietnam as a key partner for Kazakhstan in Southeast Asia and emphasized the importance of enhancing inter-parliamentary cooperation to exchange experiences in legislative support for the socio-economic development of both countries.
For his part, Nguyen Xuan Thang mentioned that the Politburo of the Central Committee and the National Assembly of the country are actively working on implementing the agreements reached at the highest level during the visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Vietnam.
In his opinion, the countries share similar views and successfully interact on multilateral platforms, including the UN and the ASEAN.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev welcomed the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Kazakh Institute for Strategic Studies and the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics. He emphasized that this document could provide a strong impetus for joint scientific research.
He also invited the President of Vietnam, Lyong Kyong, to visit Kazakhstan next year and to coincide his visit with participation in the International Forum "Astana."
