Riyadh. December 4. KAZAKHSTAN TODAY - During the One Water Summit in Riyadh, a meeting took place between the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, as reported by the Akorda press service.

The President of Kazakhstan expressed gratitude to Emmanuel Macron for the exceptional hospitality extended to the Kazakh delegation during their recent state visit to France.

The head of state emphasized the significance of the agreements reached in Paris, which aim to elevate Kazakh-French relations to a solidified strategic partnership.

"I am deeply satisfied with the outcomes of the negotiations and the agreements signed. This visit marked a significant step towards long-term economic growth and strengthening the ties between our countries. It is encouraging that just a few weeks later, we are witnessing tangible results from the implementation of key agreements across various sectors," - said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

For his part, the President of France highlighted the dynamic development of bilateral relations, underscoring the importance of collaborative efforts in areas such as combating climate change and developing a "green" economy.

The parties discussed the prospects for enhancing cooperation in the fields of energy efficiency, clean technologies, water resource management, innovation, data exchange, and artificial intelligence.

During the meeting, there was also an exchange of views on key regional and international agenda issues.

Additionally, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The President thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques - King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia and the Crown Prince, Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for their support in hosting the One Water Summit in Riyadh. The head of state expressed confidence that the summit, chaired by Kazakhstan and France, will make a significant contribution to advancing the global environmental agenda.

As Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted, this year marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia. According to him, during this period, the countries have established a trusting political dialogue, created a solid legal framework, and implemented a number of investment projects.

The meeting addressed issues of trade, economic, and investment cooperation, including in the energy, oil and gas, transportation, and logistics sectors.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud emphasized that Kazakhstan is an important partner for Saudi Arabia in Central Asia. He pointed out the vast opportunities available for the progressive development of bilateral trade, economic, and investment ties.
