Astana. November 11. KAZAKHSTAN TODAY - The 22nd international meeting on Syria within the framework of the Astana process is set to begin in Astana, reports a correspondent from the agency.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the first day will feature bilateral and trilateral consultations among delegations, while the second day will continue with meetings, culminating in a plenary session and a press conference.
The agenda for the meeting includes the following issues regarding the regional situation surrounding Syria: efforts for a comprehensive settlement in the SAR; the on-the-ground situation in Syria; confidence-building measures, including the release of hostages and the search for missing persons; the humanitarian situation in Syria, and the mobilization of international community efforts to assist in the post-conflict reconstruction of the SAR and create conditions for the return of Syrian refugees to their homeland.
