Astana. November 28. KAZAKHSTAN TODAY - The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, has opened another session of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Council.
The Collective Security Treaty Organization has become a key structure in ensuring peace and stability across the vast expanse of Eurasia. In the face of modern challenges, the CSTO consistently demonstrates its relevance as a guarantor of security for all member states. Our coordinated actions, mutual trust, and support strengthen our collective ability to tackle the most complex and large-scale issues," - stated Tokayev.
He emphasized that the CSTO is not merely a military partnership, but a unique mechanism that unites efforts and resources to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of its member states.
As the chair of the CSTO, Kazakhstan has focused its efforts on strengthening close cooperation among member countries, enhancing the efficiency of operational response mechanisms to crisis situations, and developing our organization's capabilities to combat modern threats," - stated the head of Kazakhstan.
According to him, meetings of statutory bodies, military exercises, and preventive operations of the CSTO have been conducted. Current issues of collective security have been thoroughly examined. Meetings have taken place at the level of security council secretaries and parliamentary leaders.
Consultations on various areas of CSTO activities have been held, along with meetings of auxiliary and working bodies of the organization. A series of consultations have taken place across different aspects of CSTO operations. During the inter-sessional period, a number of significant documents have been adopted. These cover issues of international cooperation, defense interaction, and responses to current challenges and threats to collective security. Special attention was also given to preparations for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War.
In general, all tasks set before the CSTO during the chairmanship of the Republic of Kazakhstan have been completed. I would like to express my immense gratitude for the support in implementing our priorities and for the fruitful joint work," - Tokayev addressed the participants of the meeting.
At the upcoming session, participants will exchange views on the international and regional situation, assess its impact on the security of CSTO member states, and hear information on the work across a wide range of cooperation areas within the CSTO while summarizing the activities of the past period.
Currently, participants have moved to a closed-door meeting.
