Astana. December 12. KAZAKHSTAN TODAY - The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, during a meeting with the Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia, Valentina Matviyenko, stated that the relations between the two countries are developing positively, reports Akorda.
Recently, President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin visited our country on a state visit. A significant impetus was given to the further development of strategic partnership and alliance between our states. I look to the future of our cooperation with great optimism," the president stated.
According to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, inter-parliamentary diplomacy plays a crucial role in all these processes. He emphasized that the deputies make a substantial contribution to the further advancement of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
The leader of Kazakhstan also noted that the visit of the Chairperson of the Federation Council is another significant event not only in terms of strengthening inter-parliamentary ties but also in the further expansion of the entire spectrum of Kazakhstan-Russia multifaceted strategic partnership.
In turn, Valentina Matviyenko expressed her gratitude to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the meeting and noted that she was very pleased to come to Kazakhstan at the head of a representative parliamentary delegation. She conveyed warm greetings from Russian President Vladimir Putin, who highly appreciates the outcomes of his recent visit to Astana.
The visit was indeed very productive and fruitful. The main thing is that our cooperation, which is gaining momentum, is mutually beneficial and based on mutual respect. Thanks to the efforts of the heads of state of Kazakhstan and Russia, bilateral relations have reached an unprecedented level. And whatever area we take: mutual trade turnover, investments, major projects in industry, energy, and cooperation in agriculture, these are real examples of strong strategic partnership and alliance between our states," Valentina Matviyenko emphasized.
During the meeting, the interlocutors also discussed current issues of trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian cooperation.
Earlier, the Chairperson of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, Maulen Ashimbayev, met with the Chairperson of the Federation Council, Valentina Matviyenko.
