Rimma Volosenko, competing in the weight category up to 60 kilograms, has secured her place in the semifinals and at least a bronze medal at the Kazakhstan boxing championship taking place in Karaganda, reports Vesti.kz.
In the quarterfinals, she triumphed over Gausar Zhaku, knocking her down twice in the second round, which led the referee to stop the one-sided bout.
Both Volosenko and Zhaku represent Astana.
In the semifinals on December 23, Volosenko will face Gulzhaina Ubbiniyazova from the Aktobe region.
Volosenko is a multiple national champion, the champion of the Spartakiad (2019), the holder of the World Cup (2017), a participant in the Asian qualifying tournament (2020), and the Asian champion (2021).
