The former citizen of Kazakhstan has once again made headlines, becoming a two-time champion of Hungary in the weight category up to 60 kilograms, as reported by Vesti.kz with reference to Tengri Sport.
Vladislava KuhtaA native of the Kostanay region is set to officially receive Hungarian citizenship in April 2024, but she had already earned the title of champion in this country last December. Her first performance in the current season at the Hungary Championship 2024 brought her a new title. Furthermore, Vladislava was awarded a special prize in the "Most Fierce Woman Boxer" category.
"Two-time champions of Hungary! Time flies incredibly fast; it has already been a year since my first performance for the Hungarian national team!" - Vladislava shared on social media.
Interestingly, she prepared for the new season in Kazakhstan, training alongside her former teammates from the national team.
"They cover the accommodation at the base and meals, as is usually the case. Kuhta and her coach obtained permission from our national team's coach to hold training camps together," explained Tengri Sport from the Boxing Federation of Kazakhstan.
Kuhta has a rich history of success under the flag of Kazakhstan: she became the national champion in the weight class up to 57 kilograms in 2020 and 2022, and also won a silver medal at the Asian Championship in 2021. In 2022, the Boxing Federation of Hungary offered her and her coach Akzam Barlybaev the opportunity to change their sports citizenship, but they declined at that time, hoping to solidify their place in the Kazakhstan national team.
Vladislava's attempt to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympics as part of the Hungarian team ended unsuccessfully, as she was unable to win at the final qualifying tournament. Notably, Kazakhstani Rimma Volosenko, competing in the same weight category, also failed to secure an Olympic spot.
