A new ranking from the World Boxing Council (WBC) has been published. Changes have also occurred in the heavyweight division, where Uzbekistan's Bahodir Jalolov (14-0, 14 KOs) competes, as reported by Vesti.kz.
Jalolov has dropped from ninth place to tenth.
He has not fought in the professional ring since November 2023, when he finished Chris Thompson (14-6-1, 7 KOs) from South Africa in the first round.
Jalolov plans to have his next professional fight on February 6 in Montreal (Canada), where he will face French boxer David Spilmont (16-8-1, 11 KOs).
Jalolov is a two-time Olympic champion (2020, 2024), a two-time world champion (2019, 2023), a bronze medalist at the world championship (2015), an Asian Games champion (2022), and a three-time Asian champion (2017, 2019, 2021) in amateur boxing.
It is worth noting that the WBC heavyweight champion is Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs), while the top-ranked fighter is British Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs). On the night of December 22, they will meet again in a rematch in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). Their first bout for the title of undisputed world champion under the WBA Super, IBF, WBO, IBO, The Ring, and WBC titles in the heavyweight division took place on May 18 at the same location and ended with a points victory for the Ukrainian (115-112, 114-113, 113-114). During that fight, the British boxer was knocked down in the ninth round.
